A Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) degree typically takes 2-3 years for full-time students and 3-4 years for part-time students. However, various programs in the State of New York offer accelerated and dual-track options, allowing students to complete their degrees in a shorter time frame. The primary advantage of accelerated MPA programs is a significant reduction in the time needed to obtain the degree.
While traditional MPA programs often take two years or more, accelerated programs can be completed in approximately 12 to 18 months. For instance, Binghamton University and SUNY Albany provide an “Accelerated/4+1 Degree” option, enabling students to finish their undergraduate and graduate MPA degrees in a combined 5 years.
